About This Song
This beautiful and tender choral arrangement was adapted from a piano solo that I arranged in December of 2020. It reflects a deep yearning for peace and comfort at the end of a difficult year for many of us.I love the imagery and progression of ideas through the three verses of this carol. The music leads us from a peaceful manger scene in verse one, to a prayerful plea for the Savior to come down and watch over our own cradle.
I deliberated between two possible versions of text for the third verse. Should I use “fit us for heaven” or “lead us to heaven?” I ultimately decided to include both.
